Jury comment:
Gigantic ocean waves and light combine in the paintings of the Australian Ray Collins to create great art. Water is his element. This is how spectacular photos are created time and again, for which the passionate surfer and photo artist has received many awards. In some photos one has the impression that mountain massifs rise out of the ocean, others seem like a fluid painting. Also the play of colours with countless shades of blue, turquoise, green and even yellow and rosé – in colour harmony with the sky – is inspiring. This enthusiasm for the once again breathtaking series of paintings by the Artist of the Ocean brought bronze for the “Waves” at the end of the long jury day.
