Jury comment:
Gigantic ocean waves and light combine to create great art in the paintings of Australian Ray Collins. Water is his element. This is how he repeatedly creates spectacular photos, for which the passionate surfer and photo artist has received numerous awards. Some photos give the impression of mountain massifs rising out of the ocean, while others look like a fluid painting. The play of countless shades of blue, turquoise, green and even yellow and pink – in color harmony with the sky – is also perfectly captured. The enthusiasm for the Artist of the Ocean’s once again breathtaking series of images brought bronze for “Waves” at the end of the jury day.
